Should we resume checks, despite the alert, “Information provided by the candidate did not match public records?"

Modified on Fri, 22 Apr, 2022 at 5:03 PM

In order to provide a background check that is thorough and accurate, we must properly verify the candidate's identity. We compare and confirm the information provided by the candidate with what is available in public records.

When a background check's status says, "Reviewing," and the following alert is displayed, it means that our support team is actively working with the candidate to verify their information. In many instances, it's a simple typo which can be resolved quickly. In other instances, we may need the applicant to provide a photo ID or other documentation.

Once our team has successfully verified the candidate's identity, the rest of the checks will continue as expected. We strongly encourage you to be patient during this period and avoid resuming checks prematurely, as it could cause inaccuracies and delay the process.

If a particular background check has been in this status for a prolonged period of time, please reach out to our support team at [email protected] so that we can provide more information.
